Toyota Vios Turbo Charged

Toyota Vios Turbo Charged

Yes! Its 2am now... not that we tuned the car until 2am, but talk kok until 2am.

Ok, we took a 1n-zfe engine from Toyota Vios, put in a turbo kit that works, and see what happens.

This ride come stock with 110 bhp, (there abouts), direct firing ignition, VVTi technology and a very light chasis of 950kg.

Sounds good? Well, the owner throw in a 8 pt under-carriage, aftermart suspension which is tuned to perfection and a nice 16 inch rims with nice performance rubbers. The handling of this ride was 2 worlds apart from the factory baked version. Of course, the struts bars, fuly lighten chasis, short shifter and bucket seat also further enhance the driving experience.

Putting in a turbo and have it tuned with Greddy Emanage Blue is really a simple and fast way of adding bhp onto this ride. With the amount of time and money spent, adding in another 50~60 bhp can never be easier than this kind of setup. Given the stability and ease of maintenence, a turbo kit will be an excellent choice.

On one of the traffic lights sprints, we noticed that as we hit the 3rd gear, the cars that was beside us is now at least 10~20 cars away, "... driving this car is like machiam driving a ferrari like that ... " hahaha... thats from the mouth of Sam as we completed our tuning. Seriously, 170~190 bhp on a sub 1 ton car is not something you can chuck aside. As compared to a 1.5 ton car with 220 bhp, I think the Vios will fair much better given all else constant like driving skill and stuff.

Ok, owner's turn to test drive. With a few instructions on how to handle a turbo charged car and also information on how the Vios will react to the turbo, we're off... Even without boosting, the owner is already feeling the difference and remarked that he is not used to this kind of driving. Mind you... thats even before the turbo starts to boost up.

Owner is a fanatic of cars and frequents the track on a regular basis, with the kit in and added bhp, he is now left to relearn the new setup and better prep himself for the tracks next month. Ok, here comes the boost at 2500 rpm and pulls all the way till redline. I saw him smiling hahaha... next gear... puuuuull all the way again... cool. And again....

Verdict:
For those who loves pulling till redlines, this kit is highly recommend. This kit is more for those who are looking for that extra 60 horses to help pull them out of that long corner. Overall, this kit is highly recommended.

On the flip side, you'll need to be briefed on how the toyota VVTi works best which is essential is making the most of the variable cam timing toyota is throwing in this car. Smooth like fark idling and no CEL lights.

Oh! Something's lacking on this ride...hahaha... the mid pipe is too small liaoz... the stock vios exhaust felt a little restrictive after the turbo is in... anyway... thats no big problem anyway. Since we have already customize full exhaust system for Vios before and using 321 stainless steel material to build it.

Ok, I damn sleepy already....

Happy Racing!!

Honda iDSi Turbo Charged

Yes. Post before already. The other Jazz comes with all the suspension system la... what have you... This one is stock version.

Well, I decided to post it if anyone is wondering if the stock version is suitable for turbo charging ...

Ok, rather than being a drag ass here, there is really not much diff. and the latter being better in handling thats all.

happy racing

Suzuki Swift Sport Turbo (Dynoed)

Suzuki Swift Sport Turbo Charged

Yes, if you refer to the earlier postings, you'll find 2 articles on this ride already. Well, heres a variant from the previous setups, we actually put in a slightly bigger turbo into the car and tuned it to work.

We got a ride which has its turbo spooling at 2500 rpm and reaching full boost at 3000 rpm all the way till 6000 rpm. This kind of setup is ideal for day-to-day driving while pushing the powerband to the mid range, sacrificing a little bit on the response.

This car has a VVT technology which functions very similarly to a Vtec opening. We put in some nice stuff into this ride which make the VVT really feels like a Vtec opening on a Honda. Why not? Since this ride weights below 1.1 ton, there is no wonder why it comes stock as a 9 sec car.

Ok, we made it work with lots of effort and planning, once done, we decided to send it for Dyno. 185 bhp is the results. I for one is extremely happy with the results since we're only boost a 0.35 bars of boost on a 7500 redline car, I can assure you that this car is no easy ride to win. Especially all this controled with Emanage Blue. Ok, what else, this ride comes stock with a very close ratio gearing which makes it perfect for drags.

Sam on the otherhand felt it should be more... Ok, if the owner installs a boost controller into his ride and i get to tune it, I'll let you know whats the outcome from the Dyno. ie. if we send it for dyno la...

Verdict:
This setup requires slightly more skill to as compared to earlier versions. Great for drags and traffic light sprints. Cornering is based on individual's balls size and hardness since this ride comes with an excellent chasis design.

Good for those who wants a Vtec feeling on a Suzuki, exploiting the VVT technology from suzuki.

Torque is much more now and requires more skill to handle.

Overall, excellent kit to have.

**Sam's going to charge more for future kits since I have successfully convinced him that it requires more material than usual to make it happen. :)
