Subaru WRX 2.5 with IHI vf35 turbo

Subaru WRX 2.5 with IHI vf35 turbo

The VF35 is one of my favourite turbo among so many turbos on the list. Reason being the massive head slamming torque this turbo can produce for this ride put this car perfectly suited for our sillypore road. Turbo spools up very strongly at 2500 and hit full boost at 3500 rpm on gear 1.

Setup was simple and straight forward. We did everything extremely stealthy which to the privy eyes, this setup will definately slip through. Nothing extreme on this setup and seriously, no one will suspect this ride packs a bunch of horses ready to be released any time you step on the gas.

This simple setup will give most big spenders a run for thier money. You retain stock drivability, stock idle quality and comfort as good as factory produce.

The torque for this ride will give and passenger a good neck excercise each time you step on it. Between stock and now, the owner can feel the massive difference in the way the car pulls.

This setup is perfect for people who are particularly careful with they way they spent their money. For the amount of horse power gained on this setup, you can rest assure the bhp gained outnumbers the money spent by far.

Car retains the stock responsiveness while packing the mid range with a bigger punch than before. The VF series turbos are well known for their spool ups and in this case, the results are impressive.

Owner test drove the car and was basically impressed with the car. He have personally tried a few cars till date and I believe this setup is a ride worth mentioning.

On the flip side, this setup is not one which aims at high peak horsepower. This is suitable for people who wants to push the powerband away from the TD-04 regions and pack them into the mid range. This will mean a more gentle ride during normal driving and an aggressive mid range ride. High end will be lacking at the 5500 rpm region as compared to bigger turbos.

To cook this dish, put in a VF35 turbo, decat the exhaust, put in a good boost controller like HKS EVC we're using, add in samco pipings and tune the car. Of course, you can add salt and pepper and garnish it with Genome meters and serve with a dash of vodka. Its up to you. :)

Verdict:
Simple and straight forward setup. For those who are trying to push the powerband slightly higher than stock for better FC and also much more power during overtaking situations.
Good for sillypore street driving :)
