Honda Stream Turbo Charged




Tuning this car is a challenge. Why? Coz, last time got another tuner installed Emanage ultimate on this car(different guy), the car refused to start. Secondly, this car is currently running on HKS F-con IS ecu. Thirdly, this car is tuned by Gar @ge #. hahaha... Stress...

The setup of this ride is undoubtly beautiful. No doubt about that. Boosting at 0.55 bars. I have intentions to go higher boost, but there is some slight modification required to make the kit work nicely at higher boost while preserving the engine.

Interior of the car is nicely decorated with HKS gauages, LCD displays and stuff. Nice.

Sam asked me to test drive the car to check the current settings. After the engine start up, I noticed the engine was running rough. And also back firing. wow. There are lots of things which the owner already feedback about his car and his desire to demod the turbo kit. We looked at the kit's excellent red ceramic coated pipings and HKS intercooler, we propose to replace the HKS F-con IS ecu with our Emanage ultimate. We wanted to give the car a second chance.

Removing the F-con IS and installing ultimate took us many many hours. As we have to verify the former setup doesnt affect what we're going to do and the original wiring is still intact.

First off, we solved the back firing. And give a much smoother running engine. We also made sure the throttle response is improved. Again, this is a honda, so has to have that honda response. Then, we had to figure out what is the new injector sizing coz, the owner didnt know what injectors were used for his car when they installed the kit.

Owner joined us for the tuning session. Tuning to us is a fun thing. Something we enjoy doing and should remain exciting, especially with the owner around, he can see how we are screwing up his ride ahhahaha... Ok. Cool.

Once we are done screwing up to 0.55 bars, we decided to try for more. We are unable to screw the boost to higher amount due to some hardware factors. This is not the end of the world. We know how to solve this problem and will wait for another day to try again after we add some more toys in. hahaha...

There are some fine tuning required on this ride. Of course la, by the time we are done, it was already 1am. Damn tired already. But every one is happy. Which is to me most important. I think one of his friends commented that over here, we do things differently, I think its about the feeling I guess... There is still 3 thing remaining to tune up this ride which I will need one more session to complete. Of course la... Emanage ultimate is very close to being standalone, theres tons of functions inside waiting to be used. And if you use them, its going to be more complicated and more fun of course.

By the time we completed, we are damn tired liaoz... Thats why we push all the way till the car can perform 90% of its duty and we can touch up on the remaining 10% another day. Really too tired la.. even the owner also shack liaoz hahaha...

Even at 90% completion, the car is already much much better than when he first came in to ask for demod. Before we tuned his car, the car likes to stall, back fire, bellow black smoke and vibrates on idle. Now smooth like fark and quieter. :)


Results:
More torque. More g-force. Definately a kit worth keeping. Car pulls hard and fast.
Excellent setup.

ps: I'm happy with the final results.
