Shocking Chena

Now I got time to tok kok...

one of the most amazing ride I've tuned so far is a Hafei. Besides WRXs boosting sky high and mind boggling horsepowered cars, Hafei is definately shocking.

For one, I got electrocuted when I touched the Coils!!

Anyway, our latest addition is a CVT and Auto transmission flushing machine which ensures trouble free transmission for your ride. This process of flushing the machine is required every 30,000 km. The conventional method of replacing the CVT and Auto transmission oil only replaces 2 litres. This machine on the otherhand uses 10 litres, ensuring the CVT and Auto tranny is kept clean and in healthy condition.

Price wise, 180 for Auto and 230 for CVT gearboxes.

See ya soon...

Welcome Kelvin the new foreman

Kelvin's our new foreman in addition to our exisiting 2 mechs, he will assist our old birds, lightening their loads. Our working hours have also been extended to 8pm Daily.

Kelvin joined us on 19 Nov. 2010.

Yes, I know I need to update this blog, but seriously, last time it was like one car per day kind of issue, now its like OMG... lolsz..

You know, power express is made up of 3 levels and a personal lift, the 2nd level will be converted to a lan gaming floor, thats going to ensure the waiting time or eat snake time is well spent, for snooker fans, the 3rd floor will house 3 competition billard table and a snack bar. Veitnam waitress sounds cools, but if I get customers like Edwin cuddling and occupying my cubicles all the time aint gonna make my snack bar run smoothly, plus the lack of waitress while their away....

Thai sounds cools, but if the keep on telling my customer, "sir... you very powerful..." lolz... while they meant your skills at snooker, its gonna send the wrong signals, and Edwin's gonna cuddle them too... hmm... business is indeed a farking headache.... cbb... if I ask Edwin dun cum, thats not healthy, and unfriendly....

Everyone knows China sucks... In case you remember them...

Once I have the solution to the girls problem, I'll commence the 3rd floor's renovation.

I'll post on the next car I tune,... sorry to those who have their rides done up but no article... pai seh... lolz... I'll reserve the thai girls for you guys.... if it makes you feel more powerful...

Ok, so look forward to December, as we plan out the customer lounges.... cheers!!

Kia Picanto Turbo charged with 122 bhp on 850 kg, thats gonna make you think twice before smacking this ride's balls...

How about kelvin's spider? The day he ate a worm in my workshop, omg, everyone was like going crazy and screaming, omg... I think they call that meal worm the super worm... maybe for the sheer size and grossness. Seriously, I would prefer mice instead.

Anyway, I'm gonna sort my thought and write about something soon... geez... must be Sean's car la... lolz...

Dyno Killers

This asshole almost blow up my dyno machine sia! I can still watch in my mental projector that dirty smirk on his face. basket, almost grinning, almost laughing, that look is like nevana on earth.

Car spools so hard that you cant see the meters. car went waaaarrp, waarrpp... 0~100 in less than 5s. OMG, the best part? Its just a Vios.

I'm starting to compile my list of banned Dyno user, you assholes belong to the Dyno Killer club. My daqplus 22 dyno is rated at 800 WHP x 4.

Yes, this ride produces so much torque, if not for the extremely light 950kg chassis, the clutch would definately be a problem. Its a good thing I used good gearbox oil for this ride......

Anyway, chill, we all had load and load of fun and laughter.... btw, sean you're also on my banned list. kekekeke.... fark you all....

cheers my ass....

Stock Lancer 1.5 EX Tuned

Here's a completely stock Lancer EX with Unichip tuning:)

Lancer CS3 with VF24 Balls Bearing Tuibo

After lotsa of retification and hardwork, we finally got the job done, boosting modestly, the turbo kicks on around 4000 rpm, thats to the owner's request to have the normal 0~4000 rpm driving as per usual, except when on high rpm around 4000 he wants the turbo to kick in.

Not a problem!

Balls bearing turbo are famed for quick spools and selection of turbo to match the entire setup is crucial to the success of the setup. 175 Wheel horsepower is approximately 201 bhp on engine, you basically add another 10~15% more horses to get this number.

Boosting way below its limits, ensures Durex safe settings with extra loads of spermicides for that safe orgamic feeling without any unwanted issues. VF24 Ball bearing turbo,... quite rare and quite fun to have.

Owner is someone who wants the job done neat and clean. Making sure every amount is well spent.

Overall, I must admit, the Lancer GLX has still lots of potential on the stock internals, and hitting a 200 bhp on engine is a real cause for celebration.

Stay tuned as I follow up with a couple of more fun cars, meanwhile, stay fun and safe sexing.

Adrain's 2.0 WRX

For starters, the interior looks fabulous. Not the seats damn it, the audio system. Because I know nuts about audio, the only question I asked, "er... this one very expensive ah?" lolz...

"Yah..."... was the answer

Lame hor...

Dunno what type of system la, but got one vacuum tube inside, 2 meter like wipers moving to the tone of the music, damn shiok... only thing was it was tuned bad.

anyway,... there are still things to be done on this 360 WHP 2 Litre WRX. Ah fah thinks its damn shiok to drive it, to rev till 8000 rpm is something worth masturbating about.

Well, heres the chart, as mentioned, there are still some hardware which needs to be sorted out, but that, we can do it when we all feel its time to do it.... easy does it man...

overall, its real cool to had increase a good 90~100 WHP from the previous tune.... :)

enjoysss..... Like what my dear fren say, "Shiok!" lolz...

From James....

With permission from the writer.... heres an email which I really felt had flare and very well written... I you guys would enjoy it as much as I do man... lolz...

Hi Joseph,

After reading your blog, i was amaze by you giving so much more punch to the machine. i was wondering whats went wrong to my set up with emanage blue tuned! I have been asking/ searching / reading / about modding which is better and true gain for my Honda Stream RN6. So had decided to have a light setup for my ride before get tune,

Open pod gave me bad impression for my previous ride so i stay stock with drop in K & N filters No C.A.I. using aftermarket header with high flow cat & approve Fuji's exhaust. D1 throttle controller and R.S.M that's all.. my friend intro me to "XXXXXXX" tuner my first thought was wahh... XXXXXXX lei! should no issue to him since the product is made in Jipun! decided made an appointment with the tuner. The day had come i was so excited how my ride would be over the week-end sure have lots of fun with it!

Operation had started, watching them installing.. THEN.. XXXXXXX catches my eyes, he seem like 1st timer doing it man looking at the manual book and searching tapping the wire makes me start to worry!! to let myself not to think too much i went for kopi and back in an hour time, just nice they had done up the wiring and preparing for tuning.

Its fun time!! My Stream start yelling covering my ear and watching them doing, praying hard for improvement on torque & some bhp increased and "Vtec" controlled! Saw the tuner keep pressing the keyboard very fast and hard!! after every each hard ram, his head keep shaking! it seem like they are facing some problem! didn't see using his laptop for tuning keep looking at the monitor and shake head... the process was about 8min nia and stop!.. he walk towards me and told me the gain was "0"%! wat the ..... dammm... my mine total empty! ask him what is the problem how come no gain at all??? the only answer he gave was "Honda" cars is like that wan, if you lucky can gain 0 - 3% max to 5%bhp! My mind start telling me knn ecu is like "tikam" ahh, if lucky to get this ecu i can get gain not lucky no gain ahh! Lucky draw ahh! request to check and re-tune, replay with checked and tuned to the best already!

Sooo sad... after waiting for hours money spent and nothing further can be done the best part is 0 gain!! cry all way home for shower keep thinking there sure something wrong, if nothing wrong must be giving me short cut service! Impossible with these light mod & emanage blue tuned was 0% gain.

Give my ride a test, floor board all the way feel like pumping very hard liao but butt not moving every gear change pull up very slowly seem like very heavy loaded only the exhaust sound louder nia hear the sound like monster machine but slow like turtle, try a week later with higher octane petrol, same same... start to search about emanage and understand more about this piggy nothing much in return. very disappointed with the result and some how feel like giving up
coz come to concept still a auto car cannot expect too much on it.

Yesterday night nothing to do, search again lor and somehow link into your blog, after reading some article and get to search on stream, Oh Yes there were some reviews on stream! i had read all of them. I like you wrote:
"we felt the car can do better with a more personalized mapping. I felt the mapping is very much across the board kind of tuning, which works for most cars, but in my opinion, if we can do a more personalized mapping, we can maximize the full potential of this ride."

"We guessed that if honda is going to put in a mapping like our, many would have felt that the honda stream is a little too aggressive for grandpa."

"Stream is quite detuned with it comes out from the factory. Expect a more 'vtec' like car after tuning with minor stage 2 modifications." and many more.. Sorry for the copy and paste without your notice. This had make my ride alive again! if possible would like to have some technical advise and appreciate is there any time slot for me to drive down for you guys to do a check on the wiring connection and advise from you guys why with this light mod with tune is a 0 gain?!?

Thank You.
Steady bom pi pi writer...

Lancer CS5 boost up

Heres a very stock lancer CS5. Car came stock with original turbo, everything inside is basically stock, so, what we wanna do here is to retain everything as is, except, increase the horsepower a little... :)

We wanna retain the original look and feel of the car, nothing spectacular, just a normal day-to-day ride, except, with more horses under the bonnet to have so quick thrill with...

Heres the Dyno chart. Tuned using Unichip Q. We added a good 35 more wheel horsepower to this ride! Thats roughly another 50 bhp on engine... good enough for a stock ride I must say...

The lowest line is actually with the boost controller offed, that about 0.5 bars of boost. The middle line is low boost, the top line is nevana boost, but still on the safe side, no worries :)

07 Forester re-tuned with faulty vf22 turbo

Heres the chart

And yes, the turbo is faulty.... the fella who tuned this car is so horribly done, I almost fainted. The tune was so bad, it wasnt possible to do a before-after run... shocking how bad the tune was.... for one, its not even possible to rev past 4k rpm!

anyway... after hours of redoing the entire map, the car is completed. However, it would be better if he had a newer turbo on board during the tune...

Boost is at modest levels due to the turbo's performance. untill next time....

Auto WRX with bigger turbo

Little did I know that this ride was previously tuned by another famous tuner. Well, I was initially informed to do a before and after run.

Red Line indicates before re-tuning, the green line is after 1 hours of tuning, the final run shows a delta of 78 bhp increase.

Boost level remains the same before and after. Except now, during test drives, at 3000 rpm, the car already felt very very light and mind you, there is no DBW to bullshit around, its the old school cable type that requires accurate tuning and that ah pek theories on pushing the car.... this ride's turbo now spools very much earlier, max torque and power is now 800 rpm earlier. With this, every gear pulls hard and pulls all the way to 8000 rpm.

Auto tranny make the drive so simple and after test driving around, I got damn addicted to the power.

Pure clean power.

Ride came with maps from famous tuner, branded big mama top-mount intercooler, intercooler pisser, I forgot what filter he using, I also forgot to take photo.... hiaz...

anyway, more to cum....

Sean's Monster

Like frankenstien, Sean's GC8 is coming alive!!!

Last night, it all came alive, each of us like little children took turns to play on this marvelous ride. At low boost, your eyes are glued to the front, no time to looks at meters really!

well, for now, I'll keep the specs a secret, we're trying to get it done in time to Mettle race this year end.

excitements brewing...... oh, sneak peek on this ride? 1000 bhp!

Honda EK4 with Hondata

I initially wanted to put the title as Honda EK4 on rampage, but I thought it would sound so lame I might change my blog to Shower Express instead. Yeah, thats what Ah fah told my suppliers, Shower Express sia lolz..... the supplier almost fainted, we laughed till shit came out man....

Anyway, heres the Dyno Charts for before and after.

What happened previously was the car drove like a frog. It literally hopped from place to place, I mean, it was so damn bad, the tune was literally a punishment. Tuning Hondata standalone ECU is a joy. Mainly because it is simple to tune and to make the car run like the wind, thats simple.

Owner SMS me yesterday, man, I tuned his car last week and only yesterday he sms me that he revved till 9k and the car felt no lag, just kept going!

Nice! No DBW to bluff people man, this old man's car still runs on cable and to make the ride sprint is like asking grandpa to fark again in his 90s. lolz... aww... just kidding...

ok, stay tuned, more to come... :)

almost forgot... the main reason why this ride can pull so hard, well.... when the bloody vtec kicks in, it has another 4000 RPM worth of solid Vtec to keep your bloodshot eyes wide like the full moon!

Real coolz ride....

Kia Picanto Turbo!!

Heres when it first arrived. It was tuned by someone else, the tune was so good, it felt so good, it felt like stock. The turbo was spooling a good amount of high boost but the pulls was so fantastic, it seriously felt totally stock. I dunno about you but, to be able to tune the ride till stock is damn power lor... lolz...

Heres how the dyno chart looks like...

Ok, owner was sadden by many hiccups during this horrific period that agony and anguish beyond tears, beyond words. He loved his ride man, I mean seriously, someone who enjoys what he does and with care built this ride to something wonderful. But, the tune was something which saddens him tremendously. It wasnt like that before.......

When we went on the dyno, all we wanted was a smoother ride. I didnt have much of a choice since the hardware was equally wonderful, there is nothing less but a proper tune to make the best of the hardware.

From 68 bhp, we touch a good 88bhp. As I looked at the dyno graphs, it wasnt even close to optimal. However, the owner was already all smiles! Damn stress lor... at 88, the ride is already above the 50% margin on base 50 bhp, and looking at the hardware begging to go beyond, short changing the ride would mean a ride that drives like a camel.

The moment we hit the 108bhp figures on a turbo charged picanto, my guys scream!! "Huat ah!!" Meng zhai bellowed!! hand punching in the air, I too joined in the wonder! The whole workshop was filled with cheers and laughter! OMG, 108bhp on a turbo charged picanto, it is beyond expectations.

Power band is now extremely smooth, with G forces at work from 3000 rpm to 4800 rpm! When the owner was testing the ride, he zoomed past my workshop and I chanced a glance at his all smiling countenance!

As he was telling me how happy he was, I could feel inside him, he was extremely satisfied.

Here we have a nicely done up Kia Picanto Turbo. Truely Small and Mighty.

"Can Fly!!" was the sms I got after the owner went home that evening.... :)

Eric's Kia Picanto

I love this ride, with featherlite weight, ensuring maximum pleasure while driving. Here we have a Kia Picanto with aftermarket exhaust system and we placed it on a Dyno to see the results.

Mostly stock parts except for the exhaust system, here's the results, +8 bhp!

Stock Kia Picanto Dyno Chart with Octance Booster

Initially I was damn sceptical about Octance Boosters, so what better way than to have the car mounted unto a dyno machine and have the bets running to see if this bottle of juice can actually improve the horsepower without any adverse effects.

"Must increase horsepower one", thats what Gordan claims. "like real lor...", that what I replied.

So, the bets are up!

Based on the Dyno charts, I lost the bet. lolz...

Looking at the low end portion, the horsepower gains are significantly increased. On every rpm, you can see that the horsepower is now earlier and higher than stock! What makes it impressive is on the high-end portion, the octane booster now performs something similar to high-lift cams, of course, though not as aggressive as cams, the powerband plateus, this in layman terms will make the difference in a drag race. On high rpm, the car now continues to pull harder than before!

Impressive la.

Ok, Gordan now with all his farking stories of people ordering OWS Octane Booster from him in Malaysia after the Race all flood us la... lolz...

Anyway, as part of the deal, we'll throw this essense of chicken for free for every 660pts in your Power Express Reward Card.

Kudos to Octane Booster.

Now folks, each bottle of essense of chicken costs $30. And the best part is that Kia Picanto's worst FC is 10.5km/L, that means loads and miles of fun, real bang for buck I must say la... lolz... enjoyment to the fullest.

This product test is done on a completely stock Kia Picanto, nothing done on the exhaust, not even de-catted, stock intake, running on Ron 95 Fuel. Nothing done one the ECU, its not even tuned!

more updates coming up.... stay tuned...

meanwhile, keep the fun alive!

Subaru S-GT Tune up

Tiring day it was. Subaru S-GT is one of the most impressive ride, with comfort and power all in one, tuning up this ride by increasing the boost and retaining the stock look and feel is indeed rewarding.

Unfortunately, this ride can't go on the dyno. But, stay tuned, Legacy GT on Spec C Engine dyno chart will be coming up soon... stay tuned...

btw, most of the ride we tested on brake fluid failed the test... get your brake fluid boiling temperature, insist on having the boiling point and not the hydrometer test which is lame... :)

Maintaining a Dog Box is not an everyday job. Lucky for us, we have the opportunity to maintain one of our customer's PPG Gearbox with our specially indented Dog Box oil.

Legacy GT on Spec C STI Engine

Yes, we rebuilt a new Spec C Sti Engine for our Subaru Legacy GT. The satisfaction of rebuilding a completely new and very stable engine, confident of a good tune up later today pays off all the late nights of hard work.

Owner was around when we started the engine. Faking old man wanted to give some money to my guys, basket, bribe sia... lucky we not the Truely Asia type lolz...

When the engine fired up, the impressive Spec C engine truely lives up to its name. All of us were impressed and stood there admiring our creation. Truely Satisfying!

The smoothest ride EVER!... lolz... lovin it! Currently running in on stock boost levels, we'll up the power very soon... stay tuned...

HKS Filter vs BMC Filter

After tuning the Honda Stream running on Emanage Ultimate, we had a discussion on what else could be done to further increase the horsepower of the car. One of the topic we talked about was the air filter element.

Yah, the whole farking world all know about air filter, including me grandma. The problem then lies in convincing the user which filter setup is better, and what better way to prove it than to have it inter-changed on a dyno machine to see which filter actually runs better and produce higher results.

Looking at the dyno charts, the clear winner is HKS open pod. No significant lost is seen on the low end side, which is on the contrary to what most people believed, while on the high end side, HKS air filter proved to be a more potent element for horsepower.

Stay tune as I keep you guys posted on setups cum dyno charts as we go along.

So for this Dyno chart on a Honda stream, we used Emanage Ultimate, decat the exhaust and put in a HKS Air filter. LTA compliant bros....

Meanwhile, stay fun, drive safe.

Brake Fluid Tests

One of the ride we tested so far failed the brake fluid tests, at 184 degrees celcius, the brakes are not funtioning as per normal, rather than going for steel braided hoses or changing the brake pads, our brake fluid tester would help you identify the actual reason why the brakes are failing.

This week, we brought in a machine which bleeds and replace the entire brake fluid system with completely fresh brake fluid, and no more pumping of the brake pedals and still stand the risk of having air bubbles in the brake fluid system. The cost of having this machine is 4500, but we believe it will pay off on the long run.

The brake fluid machine runs via pressure and completely flushes the entire system of old brake fluid and replaces it with new fresh brake fluid.

OWS Dot 4 brake fluid costs $23.95 per litre and the average car carries 2 litres. If you're regularly relacing only 1 litre, think again, the other 1 litre is still in the system and not extracted.

see you soon...

Wheel Bearings and rotors

You know when you hear wierd sounds coming from the wheel well area, those sounds are using produced from some of these components, the warped rotors, worn out brake pads, wheel bearings, drive shafts and occasionally from the calipers.

Good news is that we fixed them all.

Just remember to do the wheel alignments after we are done...

Adrian's Ride

Lightening the flywheel is something worth considering, while the cost of modifying the flywheel may be low, it has to be done such that the flywheel is skimmed balanced and to the right proportion. Special machining is required in the process.

The results is a very much lighter free revving ride. Acceleration is very much improved on the low-end side.

Aluminium flywheel is another option which some may have come across somewhere, this flywheel is extremely light in weight but after installation, the car may not be able to idle properly, stalling your ride with aluminium flywheel is a common reason why most people steer away from this modification, the costs of having this would be 10 times more than what Adrian have opt for.

Ben's birdnest

Its amazing how sometimes we can look at a birdnest and scrutinze the every detail savouring the essense of saliva without much a do about the origin of the creation. I looked at Ben's Emanage Ultimate with much amazement.

Restoration work is never simple but always very rewarding.

Every single wire is soldered, shrink wrapped, every detail is crutial to us and we take special pride in doing the best re-wiring of ECUs.

Right, diagnistics on the pull back when the turbo kicks in on this 1.6 Honda Civic FD1 turbo has to be accurate and precise. Fixing is thus simple and no re-tuning is required.

Today's thursday, we'll leave for supper at 9pm, thats something to look forward to also!

Meanwhile, have fun.

Subaru Forester 2010

This ride is fresh from the factory, running on stock turbo and intercooler. We only decatted the exhaust :)

Looks and smells brand new, and if we started to cut here and there, I think it is not only the heart that hurts, we just couldnt bare to start. Virgins are rare nowadays. Right, decatted, but thats Anal, its different. No, I didnt anal this ride.

Ok, whats done is basically boost up, and make this ride come alive! Tuning this ride is simple and straight forward, nothing extra. Fun factor definatly upz and like the owner said, at least now for the head slammer feeling, lolz...

Hoist will be installed on Thursday, thats pretty much confirmed, Dyno machine is loading onto BI 078 and then onto BI 421 and scheduled arrival date is 1-Sep NZ time. With port clearance and forwarder drive over, I think we should be able to touch touch on 3~4 Sep our time.

Proton Satria

This ride came with Unichip installed, adjustable cams sockets, 4-2-1 extractor, straight through exhaust, pivot v-drive and cold air intake system. A typical NA setup most people would try.

Owner's request is to push more horses out of this ride and the morning is spent tuning this ride, making full use of whatever that is already installed, I think a good 15% increase from stock should be whats achieved.

If this ride came with high lift cams, I bet its gonna be a hit!

Anyway, there you have it, Proton Satria Tuned.

Brake Fluids

Power Express® performs brakes fluid boiling point test for every car we service

Brake Fluid

One of the very forgotten item to be serviced is actually our brake fluids. For starters, the moment the bottle of brake fluid is opened, it starts absorbing moisture. It is the rate and amount of moisture absorbed by the brake fluid that affects the fluid's performance during braking.

Moisture also causes a number of problems like :
1. Viscosity rises in lower temperature, so more force to be applied for brake every time.
2. Spongy brake paddle due to presence of water vapour.
3. Brake failure chances increase in low temperature due to formation of ice crystal in line.
4. Moisture wears the component failure due to internal rust and deterioration.
5. Moisture initiates the oxidation of brake fluid components to reduce its life.

With proper brake fluid testers which actually boils the fluid and measures ERBP, we will be able to tell whether it is time to change the fluid. In North America, there are companies fighting to pass a law that requires all cars to be tested for ERBP.

..."It is observed that vehicle owners are not giving much attention in changing the brake fluid and during the checks, it found that 80% of the cars tested have not met the specification. The owners are also not so much worried about the changes(brake fluid) because they are not facing any trouble during the drive"

DOT 3 Brake Fluid:
Dry boiling point 205ºC
Wet boiling point 140ºC
Crimson, Pale Yellow, Blue colored, transparent & free flow liquid.
Most popular economical standard brake fluid product for Modern Street driven vehicles.

DOT 4 Brake Fluid:
Dry boiling point 230ºC
Wet boiling point 155ºC
Crimson, Pale Yellow, Blue colored, transparent & free flow liquid.
Superior performance at high temperature in worst condition.

DOT 5.1 Brake Fluid:
Dry boiling point 260ºC
Wet boiling point 180ºC
Eliminate vapor lock and brake fade during the race
Orange colored, transparent & free flow liquid.
Most suitable for racing Cars.

*Dry equilibrium reflux boiling point (ERBP)–the boiling point of new, freshly opened brake fluid.

**Wet ERBP–the boiling point of brake fluid having absorbed 3 percent water. Only 3 percent water contamination is often sufficient to reduce a DOT 3 fluid’s boiling point below the DOT minimum.

Notes on Dot 5
DOT 5: This brake fluid is based upon silicone. Its dry boiling point (ERBP) is 260°C minimum and wet boiling point is (Wet ERBP) 180°C. It is used in applications, like for weekend, antique, collector cars that sit for long periods and for some military vehicles. Some car manufacturers are also used in their road driven vehicles. This brake fluid does not mix with DOT 3, DOT 4 or DOT 5.1. It will not absorb water and will not damage the paint on a vehicle. It is also compatible with most rubber formulations. It absorbs more air and giving poor pedal feeling. It is unsuitable for racing due to more compressibility under high temperatures. If as little as one drop of water enters the fluid, severe localized corrosion, freezing or gassing may occur. This can happen because water is heavier and not mixable with silicone fluids thus it is unsuitable for ABS.

DOT 5 fluid is highly compressible due to aeration and foaming under normal braking conditions, providing a spongy brake feel. Poly glycol type fluids are 2 times less compressible than silicone type fluids, even when heated.

Owner agrees to let me take a picture of his engine bay... hairy bimbos are all over the net, I think I might just land on another ape if not for this picture.

Here we have a very nicely done up CS3 turbo with SSqv blow off valve, custom rocker covers, custom mandrel bent extractor, intercooler, Apexi AVCS boost controller and all the other stuff you can imagine while wanking in the toilet.

The moment I opened the engine bay, I was like wow! What we did on this ride was to remove the unichip which was already installed, and hook up Emanage Ultimate. Wire up the staging injectors and increase the boost.

I dunno about you, but, for the owner, lolz... the moment we went high boost, he was like smiling and laughing all the way man... lolz... "You like more happy than me..." was my comment to his euphoric countenance. lozl...

There you have it, a very nicely done up CS3 turbo running on staging injectors, controlled using Emanage Ultimate!

Overall, I throughly enjoyed myself. This is indeed one of the coolest rides in town!

Enjoy!

Honda Civic 1.8 si

A quick looks at whats done on this ride, Staight through exhaust, decat, tuning with Unichip Q.

Thats all.

The results from this setup is an overall increase of 10~15% horsepower, with factory quality idling and reliability. This setup is really for people who are interested in doing just "a little" here and there and nothing too extreme, just to try out tuning up the ride with some minor modifications.

For boost junkies like Sean and Kelvin, yah, turbo it, farking turbo everything in the world while you're at it! lolz...

My days in the airforce

I know, the waiting list, OMG, damn paiseh... lolz... I'm trying to rush the dyno and workshop tools to arrive the soonest man.

Besides making K's STI low end more punchy, major tuning works are on-hold for the time being, I know Dn's waiting for turbo :)

I remember this morning my days in the Airforce as a cadet pilot. Somehow, each time I look back, its filled with much regret. No doubt, my course com suxz bad, the course mates I had was out of this world, I dunno about you, but, I looked back, and many a times, rewind the tape and replayed the times in my mental projector, I saw what an arsehole I was. Still, friends like Cpt Willy, James, Paul chew, Alan, that equally asshollic Kelvin Kwan! lolz... Deep down, I'm filled with thanks for putting up with an anal. anyway, the mental recall does fill me with much nostalgic memories, that one can only say if, "I were to re-do history", I would do it otherwise. We all move on, still the tapes of history are intact.

115 Basic Wing Course is by far the finest breed of men I know.

Mistakes like blowing engines in the early days of my tuning career are equally valuable. Its though these bad experience that one can learn much, though, it would be best to do without, still, if it does happen, we move on.

During my cadet days, the best times besides doing aerobatics was times spent together with fellow course mates. The bloody 115 BWC initiation where we all lay flat, dead drunk... lolz... memories. Its been a good 10 years now.

Well, thats life I guess... lolz... Ok, coming soon, TS turbo charges, GC8 with STI engine, TS on NOS, GC8 on 2.8 stroker cosworth engine, EK4 on drugs and Fiat Bravo on steroids!

Stay tuned

J's Subaru 1.5R

It was previously tuned by a pro. tuner. J's ride arrived with erratic idling, with the aircon on, the ride sounded like it has high-lift cams installed, rather, it is more irritating to know that the ride is worse than stock after it was tuned.

The wiring looks like the tuner is out for some quick cash, nothing quite like it was done with consideration to the asthetic effects. Knowing that wires are pretty much conceal in the ECU compartment, I still felt that pro. should maintain the market's standard and do the wiring in a professional manner.

Well, time is money of course, I personally prefer to spend that additional 1.5 hours to clean up the wiring and return the luster to the ECU compartment. Making sure all wire are properly soldered and insulated against the elements.

After setting up Unichip parameters, I fired up the engine. The entire car sounds completely stock. Idling is stable, no fluctuation whether it is with the aircon on or off. I noticed J's dissappointment when the car sounds so stock. lolz...

J, like I said, I'm sorry, if the car is gonna be loud, please operate the muffler. I wouldnt screw up the mappings to produce that fierce sound. lolzz....

Perfect idling.

Tuning is simple enough for me. My style is simple, do not let the car 'season' by itself, while some would beg to differ, I personally prefer to not allow the ECU to relearn in any way, but the way I want it to be. More horsepower and more torque, while all else remains intact. Better fuel consumption and better drivability.

Simple? well, J's a happy man now..... This ride comes stock with variable cams, producing one of the finest TS in Subaru's range thus far.

Tuning this ride does bring back memories, happy ones, good old days....

Lets NOS this ride yah?

lolz...

stay happy, drive safely,

WRX with FP green turbo

WRX with FP green turbo

We all know what the FP green turbo can do with a 2.5L wrx boxer engine. With AVCS cams and a top mounted intercooler, this ride can easily push the turbo to produce significant difference in horsepower and torque for this ride.

This turbo is suitable for people who already owns a turbo charged ride, played enough of low end torque and response, and lost enough on the highway to taxis and 350-zees. Its that lack of high-end power which causes most seasoned turbo charged rides to fore-go the low end torque and go for something more rewarding during inpromto races.

FP green is an excellent selection. Owner bought it off a previous owner who de-modded his ride and sold it to him at a steal.

Turbo installation took 2 hours to complete and after a quick tune up with desch-works 850cc injectors newly installed, we fired the engine and we're off to tune the ride. Idling is perfect in all situations, with aircon on and off, the idling remains stable at 800 rpm.

For all this while, I've been wondering what the word FP stands for... I guess today, I finally found out. Fake Power! Maybe farking power is a better terms in most cases, but if this secondhand FP turbo has problems with its compressor blades/fins, this turbo is shit. The inablity to spool and compress air efficiently have caused the turbo is be inefficient and boost levels are unacceptable.

Owner damn borling lor... lolz... The anti-climax, low sex drive turbo really pissed everyone off.... No doubt at the current boost level, the damaged FP turbo is already showing signs of its original prowess, the teasing aint helping the punctured excite. Its like grandpa swinging his dick and telling us how big and power he used to be, his performance in the past is not gonna make any granny high and that how we felt.

Well, goodday to all, the damaged FP turbo bored us all, still, all smiles, he got the refund for the turbo and we're off...

stay tuned... I've got good news coming soon....

Subaru STI boost up

Subaru STI boost up

Got an assignment to tune up a Stock Subaru STI that morning, and after a quick exchange of contact and stuff, we fixed up an appointment to Dyn's ride tuned up and good for the road.

Ride arrives sounding like a rocket or something. Hmm, I notice he still has the stock bonnet. Bright yellow in colour and excellent looking body kits. Popping the bonnet, we saw a massive top-mount intercooler and a turbo that smiles. I managed to talk to his turbo, after a quick hand shake and stuff, turbo told me he is also stock. Right. I might have seen him somewhere before, though in my memory, turbo does look kinda innocent for starters.

Gear 1, Dyn's STI sprints forward. Turbo kicks in as early as 2500 rpm and pulls right on to red line. At 1 bar of boost, the engine shows signs of detonation. I started scratching my head, then my balls, my balls says the turbo's stock. lolz...
Gear 2, Turbo kicks in instantly, and have breath to pulls all the way to redline. What in the world did this owner did to his ride? Hmm,...stock... lolz...

What we did on this ride is to tune up the ride to spool up quicker than before, ensuring engine is still happy and boost enough to tell the owner, your stock injectors are now maxed out. Of course, if more horsepower is desired, we can recommend upsizing the injectors, and going for forged internals.

Tuning this ride is simple enough for me. This ride now packs with much more torque than before, no more detonations and stuff, and loads of bhp to play with. Definately, if owner sticks to his high boost all the time, the low boost will now feel like granny on sticks.

After 1.5 hours of tuning, this ride's performance is safely improved with loads of low-end torque and enough breath to pull to redline. I'm respecting the owner's choice to keep the vehicle's parts discrete, and again, turbo is stock, nothing's modified on this ride, just a little tune up and stuff.

Verdict:
K'dyn Subaru 2.5 STI
Shoik!

Nitrous Oxide Know-How Advanced

Nitrous Oxide Know-How Advanced

Here's an article from Wikipedia on Nitrous Oxide.

I promised Kelvin to write a more layman termed article on NOS, here goes, if you have burning questions to ask, pls drop me an email...

Some of the most commonly asked questions about NOS:

1. Engine lifespan?
2. Is there a Blue flame coming out from the exhaust?
3. How does this compare to a Turbo Kit?
4. How does the system work in layman terms?
5. Detailed Price Breakdown
6. Wet, Dry or Direct Port?

1. Engine Lifespan?

With reference to the wiki article, under the paragraph Reliability Concerns, the first sentence spells it all. "As with all modifications to increase power, the use of nitrous oxide carries with it concerns about the reliability and longevity of an engine"

This not only refers to NOS, it refers to all modifications, no matter how small or big it would be. And in all modifications, some are easy enough to understand, while others like NOS and Turbos, are slightly more complicated

Golden Rule: A good-rule-of-thumb for most cars would be to run higher octane fuel and cap the increase of BHP to a maximum of 50% of your stock bhp. You'll be safe.

In layman terms: Pump better fuel when you wanna play, increase bhp to maximum 50%

On days where you dun intend to use NOS, pump normal fuel, keep NOS De-activated. Car is now stock.

Now you know how to protect the engine using the Golden Rule

* To turn on NOS, you have to open the bottle valve, switch-on the Arming Switch, and press the activate button. All 3 must be true before NOS can be activated.

2. Is there a Blue flame coming out from the exhaust?
If you have a modified exhaust, decatted and operated. Yes. Otherwise No. Yes, it looks nice. If you're seeing the blue flames, installing a carbon fibre exhaust guard will keep the bumper looking good. :)

3. How does this compare to a Turbo Kit?
In comparing, lets take a Toyota vios and TC it, while the other vios, we'll NOS it.

a. which is usually faster if both cars have the same bhp? - NOS. Bottle pressure in NOS remains constant while turbo runs out of breath or lags depending on the turbo selected.

b. which has better Fuel consumption? - NOS. Turbo spools all the time, and if you pump 98 on turbo, you can't downgrade it to 95

c. Refilling - Turbo is better, since petrol stations is everywhere, 10 mins to top up petrol. NOS, you'll need to come over my workshop for 10mins refill

d. Engine longevity ? - Same. If turbo have been tuned properly and NOS follows golden rule.

e. Trade-in? - Both kit can be sold off to another owner at 50% off market rate. If you have bought your NOS Kit from us, we'll buy-back at $675 ($450 USD@1.5).

f. Which is cheaper? NOS.

4. How does the system work in layman terms?
In layman terms, turbo uses exhaust gases to spool up and force air into the engine. NOS uses bottle pressure to inject liquid Nitrous which converts into oxygen before entering the engine, it cools down the intake manifold and a denser cold air enters the chamber producing power.

NOS kit can be further upgraded after you bought it.

5. Detailed Price Breakdown (SGD)
NOS Kit $600
Shipment to Singapore $285
Import Tax 7% $62
Labour chgs $250
sub total : $1197

Cold Ait intake Pipe :
HKS Open pod filter $45
Cold air intake $80
Labour chgs $50
sub total : $175

Total $1372 SGD

6. Wet, Dry or Direct Port?
We use only Wet Kit which is safer than Dry and doesnt require modification of any stock engine components.

Overall, NOS has a class of its own, it stands together with Turbos and Superchargers. While Turbo uses boost controller, NOS uses Jettings.

Nitrous Know-How, The Basics

Nitrous Know-How, The Basics

The principle is simple: Air and fuel plus ignition equals horsepower; therefore, more air and fuel equals more horsepower. It's the equation that nitrous systems manufacturers use to help produce incredible power gains-in some cases up to 400 extra ponies-in everything from sport compacts to dedicated race vehicles.

Still, many performance enthusiasts don't fully understand how nitrous systems make extra horsepower. More importantly, they don't understand how to tune their nitrous system for optimal performance.

To help you get the most from your nitrous setup, we'll show you some nitrous system basics and share some basic tuning tips.

The rules of using NOS is simple.
1. Don't be greedy.
2. It needs to be refilled.
3. If you cannot activate NOS after 3000 rpm yourself, use Unichip.

FAQ

1. NOS is very hard to find when you open the bonnet
2. You can DIY remove the kit in 15 mins yourself
3. It typically last 4 drag races (100bhp NOS)
4. It is cheaper than Turbo
5. Your car is stock if NOS is not activated
6. It takes 10 mins to refill the tank
7. Each refill is 70 bucks
8. NOS Will not activate it unless you press the trigger
9. It installs on any car
10. No tuning is required for 20~30% increase in bhp
11. It is addictive
12. It is used in the movie too-fast-too-furious
13. Fuel consumption is not affected
14. Sound and looks remains the same

How to blow your engine
1. Pump more NOS than I told you to.

What people like about NOS
1. Cheap
2. Damn fast
3. Short turn around time
4. Have lots of cheap accessories with NOS
5. Show-off especially with purge valves!

What Workshops hate about NOS
1. Troublesome to refill NOS
2. Low profit margin
3. Hard to tell people not to increase too much NOS power

What people hate about NOS
1. Tanks is empty when they need it
2. Keep them thinking about it everytime they drive
3. Choosy about cars to chiat

Price for a basic kit $1380, 4 hours of your time and endless hours of fun

I was on NOS, it was my first modification, nothing came close literally!

This is highly recommended for people who doesnt want to spend money on their rides. Its power when you want it.

Friends are friends afterall

Friends are friends afterall

I had a chat with one of my old pals today, and finally got to understand the real reason why sam kicked my ass and ask me go fly kite. To look back in time, and to read the journels I've written over the years, it does bring back fond memories. It is also partly why I took such a long time to write and when there is so much to read. In my memories, sam is like a big brother who watches over those he considers are his family. The problem with this farker is that he seldom or never wish to say too much of why he did it his way. Its like those who have had their rides modified by him, you try asking him how and why he did it like this and that, he will start drawing circles and triangles in the air and say, "this is my recipie of cooking fried rice", he likes to cook it like that and if you enjoy the food, pay money. Quite annoying to a certain extent I must admit, and to taste his fried rice first hand, it does suck a little.

Well, he have his reasons and to want me not to follow his footsteps, thats sam. I've seen him do this to his siblings, though he seldom talk about it much, deep down I am thankful for his gestures.

His excuses of me being a tuner who is around only in the evening, not forgetting, its been 6 years since we worked together, farking rides and blowing engines, is pretty lame. He thinks that sucking my bosses ass after they shit, like the rest of us is pretty much a normal lifestyle, spending time with family and stuff and cherish our time with our kids is more likely the reasons why he kicked my ass. I told him I was counting down to my turn. I think I pretty much freaked him out! LOLZ!! I know Paul stuck around during times like this, since they pretty much have so much in common, as I reel back, pause and look at the whole picture, it does fit together well enough to know and be thankful.

I remember Sam's encouragement when I wanted to start on my own and purchase my own dyno machine, if he wanted me to fail, then he wouldnt have encouraged that in the first place. I think I better not fark him too much out of anger for kicking my ass, thats not gonna be nice and logical.

Today, I must admit, my skills as a tuner is formidable and it came as a result of countless hours of tuning. His patience and opportunites resulted in my skillset and fame, I have sam to thank.

As usual, I'll stick to my slogan, Sam a farker and I'll keep it that way, the way he wanted it. Try thinking of sam a nice fella, I cannot, asshole he is. I'll still give him the middle finger, and I see again in my mental projector, the dirty old man smile, the euphoric feeling, the way I remember it to be.

Sam, thanks.

For those looking for him, he is now located in a rubbish dump. He has 2 useless burgers working for him now, and the other new guy? I think he's gay. lolz! 4 hoist now to service cars, of which 2 of the hoist saw the days we shared. Ah fah became his part time painter for his new shop, bloody talented guy I must admit, I wonder if he can work as part-time maid also. Ah fah? dont bother about him, I can write all sort of shit about him, he doesnt read english anyway... pls, dun translate this for him, if you must, I pray you be kind lolz... Dun say the maid thingy... lolz...

Smile. For today, we stand in the crossroads of life, the dilemma.

All I know, all in all, sam will support me, the way he knows how, we chose our friends, the way I know how, he knows my passion in tuning and in the makes of passion, the anger and the love. hmm... I've never tried angry sex before... Jepun have alot, those porn site have alot of those short farts scewing angrily, hmm... passion sia! confirmz! Smurfs must be very passionate people too... and dwarfs? Yeah, xnxx have the snow-white and the 7 passionate dwarfs too. They are very passionate too... yes. omg, every now and then my passionate tuning turns dirty... Now I'm angry... muahahaha... fark la... lolz... dun run off searching for the dwarfs yet.

Now, I'm spending more time with my kids and family, and have the weekends off to tune cars!! lolz... Thanks Brother.

coming soon, angry dwarf driving passionatly tune STI... lolz...

Happy dwarfing....

World of change

World of change

Yes, its been while...

I am no longer tuning cars for Sam. Finally... hahaha... I know many people including workshops have been waiting for this day for a long time. It is difficult to some extent to sum up a long story into a short narrative text and to keep things simple, you no longer have to depend on Sam being the only soul in this hellish road raged world, to attend to your needs if you require my services.

For a while now, in fact, for the last 6 months for the matter, Sam have been tuning car himself and in fact, I wouldnt even know you or had seen your car before if you have had your car been tuned by me during this period. Beside those who knows me personally, and have specifically requested for my services, I'm guessing, and hope that you understand that in the world of business, people does change and in business sense, it may be more viable to do away with additional expenses and earn that extra few cents if possible.

With all due respect, this business sense thing is crap to me. I still wanna retain that transparency and honesty I have carried with me all these years and will continue to provide that level of credibity.

In the market, as some you already know, exists workshops with exquisite skillset and attitude. Being able to speak freely, BMS, BKS are experts on subarus and their after sales services is beyond doubt. Man exhaust have been around for ages and being the first workshop to install a turbo kit for a NA car, this fact itself speaks volume. GTR technology are professionally known to build that fastest rotary engines and apex seals and the know-hows of maintaining or modifying a rotary engine, they are second to none. GTR is also a no-frills workshop who does customization to the customer's budget. I mean, if you're real tight on a budget and just wanna get thing up and running on a low-cost itenary, they would be your Value-Air of today.

As you already know, there exists also a community of tuners enough to populate an entire pulau ubin and have kids enough to run a community center, and it is also worth noting that tuner themselves also have their preferred workshop to perform a preferred task. Like for example, BKS rebuilds a WRX engine in 4 days, and installs a new 2.5L engine in 1 day. Man exhaust builds custom turbo kits in 2 days. Yes, it is that fast. And appointment basis only. It is also re-assuring that you get the attention you need once your car is there and have an assured delivery.

I saying that in the realm of car modifications, there are a plenty of options and it is thus important that someone, with a non-bias and non-business oriented approach explains to you whats important and where to do the stuff. It is also important that that someone exercise his clout to get the best possible deal on your behalf and not have any strings attached to the package.

No worries, I'll now hang out at Ah boy's shop at #05-13/14. I'll erect my own signage asap. Thats gonna be a ego thing for me of course, and fark the private parties thingy, let have it in my own workshop. Yes, my very own one.... :)

This article is meant to remember Ah boy's encouragement and his efforts to pull me out to take a damn good look around. His constant reminder that I have to continue tuning cars with that unwavering honesty, non-business approach to people. I remember those who wonder why I tune cars for sam while there is a world of opportuniny out there. I can now freely tune a car that is reliable and place cap on car to keep them running healthy and happy.

People hate it when I cap a car's horsepower. hahaha... it is like sex, you wanna bang it hard and fast, but, you wanna also slow down sometimes... you know, pre-ejeculation aint gonna make her smile alot. kakakaka.... if you kept on banging for an hour, you get blisters. Soap aint gonna help bro. Soap only makes it smoother but, those blisters are still gonna appear.

Stay tuned... I have a half-cut TS coming along the way. HV racing does the setup for a cool 4000 RM !! Yeah, damn cheap. The car has been running for 2 years now, and owner have saved enough molla now for a professional tune up session. Price wise, cheap cheap bang bang, I'll leave enough for him for a couple of woohaa, thats for sure...

meanwhile,keep smiling and drive safe.

ps: JX, thanks for asking me to update my blog for the 10th time now... cheers!!

Vin the CB

Yes, cb busy doing all sort of freaking rubbish shit, no time to blog.

Hope you guys are still wanking and keeping the flame alive! Where the fark is JiaXiong??? I miss your GF la, long time never see her liaoz... I remember a japanese styled hairdo, a silky complexion and eyes that melts my heart away. Her image I play again in my mental projector, the moments in time replay and I see it again, that feeling of youth and energy, I see it again.

I told Ah neh, going 800 bhp is no easy route, those who walk this path usually takes a hell lots of working the parts and a long journey to build up those horses. Well finally, after 2 long grueling weeks of work, the car is finally ready.

We have in the bay, pistons, con-rods, ARP head studs, sleeves, valves, and super high lift cams and many many more. Turbo for this project is again, Sumo.

The results on this ride? Fabulous. Well, for starters, Ah neh, is already clocking 550 bhp on his previous setup and god knows why he want more now. For someone who already experienced 70kg of torque and 550 bhp to say this new ride rocks! OMG! My advise to him, find his new targets as Lambo, ferraris or Skylines and make subaru proud brudder! hahaha

Forget about the usual Boxer exhaust from the subaru engines. These puny fries are pretty tamed sounding compared to a subaru running on high-lift cams. hahaha. Vin asked me why the idling sounded like this. hahahah.... newby syndrom.

Gear 1 on this ride, shows a cool 1.5 bars as early as 4000 rpm, with boost of 2 bars (for starters) at 6000 rpm. Car shoots forward like Apollo 13 and that seat of the pants feeling are seriously suitable for WRX owner who lost that first time feeling of "G" forces. 90KG of Torque propeling 1.6 tonnes forward, gear 2 sing to to the same tune. Gear in, floorrrr.... Car propels like a rocket with 2 bars and defi complaining out-of range! hahaha... yes, for those who have never seen this before. It farks up the reading big time hahaha...
Gear 3. Yes, again. With a wrx long 3, this car pulls as hard as gear 1. So hard, you see the rpm swips together with the speedo. If granma panties smashes the windscreen, please leave it there.
Gear 4. Keep your eyes focused. With speed in excess of 160, 90 kg of torque, boosting this much on a Sumo turbo. Skyline are as fast as a wrx to my picanto.

I enjoyed screwing this ride so much, I'm gonna ask Vin to come back for some 'fine-tuning' hahaha... Geylang needs some waking up with powervalves and boxer on cams.

Verdict:
Nothing come close, literally.

Sam is the only farker complaining of back aches around, hahaha... Vin, I'll help you Anwal him later for taking so long to build this 800. hahaha

drive safe and stay funky
