Subaru TS 1.6 Turbo Charged



Subaru designed the subaru TS very much like the WRX. TS comes with a smaller capacity and high compression ratio of 10:1. Engine is a flat-4 horizontally opposed design.

This Ts belong's to the newer breed of TS which has the pig-nose design and is manufactured in Year 2007. The biggest difference between the older TS and newer ones in terms of performance is that the newer models runs a different set of ECU map. meaning, the tuning for the later models is different from the older ones...

Ok, we placed a wrx turbo into this ride and a couple of other things like boost controller, HKS BOV, very big sub injector, we managed to tune the car to a very satisfying result. The CEL light remains off which means that from the outside, you really cannot tell this apart from the stock TS. All controlled using Emanage Blue :)

you don't even need to change your bonnet to the wrx bonnet for this setup to work. Its a simple and straight forward job. I must admit, tuning this car is not easy. The subaru's ECU is very advanced. For this kit to work properly, everything must come together nicely to work. Subaru cars are extremely sensitive to modification, even simple things like cold air intake and decatted exhaust can yeild good results. Not to mention putting a wrx turbo into this car. hahaha....

Sam too agrees that the feeling of this ride is closely matched to the wrx feeling. Of course, the wrx is faster la... 2.0L engine mah... For a 1.6L and lower road tax with this kind of performance, I cannot ask for more. This particular setup puts the car into the 200 bhp range. If we used a boost controller, you can rest assure the boost is higher than 0.4 bars, of course... :)

massive amount of torque from a boxer design engine gives the driver a nice 'g' force and the seat of the pants feeling when the turbo kicks in. smooth delivery of power all the way to redline. No jerks, no stalling, just smooth all round power!

Overall, this kit converts the underpowered stock TS into a highly responsive, fun car to drive. This setup is built for track use, which means you will get a very consistent and predictable response from the car. On the track, this is most important. To out last and to out run.

verdict:
puts a smile on everyone's face. I really like the HKS BOV sound !! hahahaha...
